Tyleen Couplings

Tyleen couplings are made of polyethylene, a type of plastic. Tyleen consists mainly of MDPE and HDPE. HDPE is a strong and tough material, it is waterproof and does not absorb water. HDPE can withstand temperatures up to 80 degrees and is UV-resistant. HDPE is odorless and non-toxic. MDPE is a durable plastic that is produced. MDPE has a very long lifespan and has a minimal environmental impact, it can also be easily recycled. MDPE has great flexibility and is easy to install.

A tyleen water pipe can be recognized by a blue stripe on the outside of the tyleen hose. Tyleen couplings are often used for outdoor water pipes. Because you want to drink the water, it is important to choose a tyleen pipe that is equipped with the KIWA quality mark.

A tyleen coupling can withstand frost, but it is better to prevent this. Frost in a tyleen coupling can be prevented by draining the pipes in the winter and drying them out, or by placing the water pipe deep enough. It is best to dig your tyleen water pipe at least 60 centimeters deep to prevent the hose from freezing.

Tyleen couplings are not suitable for hot water. High temperatures can lead to the presence of legionella in the water.

We supply these Tyleen couplings in many different sizes with various options for thread sizes and internal diameter openings.

Tyleen / Tyleen couplings have 3 different connections. The most common and simplest way to connect is the compression coupling. This tyleen coupling consists of a ring with a screw connection. This way, you don't need any glue or anything else to connect the tyleen hose. The other option is to make the connections with an internal or external thread connection, which can be connected with Teflon tape. In addition, with the threaded connections, you can easily continue with PVC fittings or copper.
